This morning, Bob Nuss, President of Nuss Truck & Equipment, joined Jimmy Mac on Road Gang Radio for a special interview celebrating his more than 50 years of leadership and innovation in the trucking industry.
Broadcast live from Minnesota, Bob reflected on his early days in Rockford, Illinois, where he grew up watching his father, Charlie Nuss, run Mack of Rockford. From those beginnings in a small neighborhood shop, Bob learned firsthand the value of hard work, perseverance, and integrity — lessons that shaped his career and the Nuss legacy.
“The best way to succeed is to surround yourself with great people who know their craft — in parts, service, sales, and management,” Bob shared. “At 80 years old, I’ve become the company’s biggest cheerleader.”
“What started as one or two restorations became something much larger — a way to preserve the innovation and grit that built America’s trucking industry,” Bob explained.
“When President Trump visited our Burnsville store in 2019,” Bob recalled, “we stood beside a new Mack truck and a new Volvo loader — the perfect symbols of how we build and move America forward.”
Bob Nuss is President of Nuss Truck & Equipment, a multi-generation, family-owned Mack and Volvo dealership group headquartered in Rochester, Minnesota. Under his leadership, Nuss has grown into one of the Midwest’s most respected heavy-duty truck and equipment dealers and home to the Nuss Collection Truck Museum, a 501(c)(3) celebrating the heritage of American trucking.
