Nuss Collection Returns to Madison with Rare Trucks at the 2025 ATHS National Convention & Truck Show
Madison, WI – June 3, 2025 — The Nuss Collection is proud to announce its return to the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) National Convention & Truck Show, held June 5–7 at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin. This year, the Nuss Collection will be showcasing two extraordinary historic trucks: the one-of-a-kind 1914 Sternberg 2-Ton and the newly restored 1923 Mack AB 2-Ton Jail Cell Truck — a true head-turner and crowd favorite.
The Sternberg, the only known truck of its kind in existence, is a remarkable piece of history. Built in 1914 before the company changed its name to Sterling during World War I, this rare vehicle features a patented oak wood liner frame design, chain drive, aluminum transmission casing, and wooden wheels. It was meticulously restored by Sterling employees over 50 years ago and has since been preserved by the Nuss Collection.
Joining it is the 1923 Mack AB Jail Cell Truck, an imaginative custom build freshly completed by the talented restoration experts at the Nuss Body Shop in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. This truck has been transformed into a rolling tribute to 1920s law enforcement transport—complete with a fabricated period-style jail cell on its rear deck.
Hundreds of Historic Trucks Rolling into Madison – Major Event This Week
Madison will host a one-of-a-kind celebration of American trucking heritage as the ATHS Truck Show rolls into town. The 2025 ATHS National Convention & Truck Show is expected to feature around 1,000 historic trucks and trailers, from pre-World War I relics to legendary rigs of the modern era. This is the largest gathering of vintage trucks in the nation, and it’s open to the public.
