Field Heavy Duty Truck Diesel Service Foreman Position Summary

At Nuss Truck & Equipment in Burnsville, MN, the Heavy Duty Truck Diesel Service Foreman plays a crucial role in planning, organizing, leading, and controlling the flow of service work through the service department. This mid-shift position (10 AM – 6:30 PM) begins with hands-on work alongside technicians in the shop and transitions to the Service Desk in the afternoon, acting as a Service Advisor. Key responsibilities include maintaining service standards, adhering to regulations, ensuring quality repairs, scheduling shop work, and handling customer communications and complaints.

Candidates should have a two-year technical school degree in Diesel/Heavy Equipment or equivalent experience, with 2-3 years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience preferred. Essential skills include troubleshooting, knowledge of heavy equipment systems, mechanical aptitude, and strong communication abilities. The role demands solid computer skills, the ability to work independently and in a high-stress environment, and a professional appearance. A valid driver’s license is required, with a CDL preferred. This physically demanding position involves lifting heavy parts, exposure to noise and fumes, and maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Field Service Technician Position Summary

As a Field Service / Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic / Technician you will diagnose, repair or overhaul, and maintain heavy construction equipment in the field. Equipment includes compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment. Major components and parts include; diesel engines and power plants, hydraulic, electrical, computer / software, and body / structural items.
